Dev Update 1: Foundations

We're making Project Trinity, India's first live-service AA+ Action RPG for PC and Consoles. Drawing inspiration from Destiny 2's cooperative multiplayer DNA, but top-down instead, set in Ancient India.

We started our journey at IGDC 2025, and we wanted to share a progress update on what we've been building.

We're making Project Trinity, India's first live-service AA+ Action RPG for PC and Consoles. Drawing inspiration from Destiny 2's cooperative multiplayer DNA, but top-down instead, set in Ancient India. It's a game we'd want to play ourselves, and one we believe the market is truly ready for.

In late 2025, Project Trinity was just an idea. Since then we have been busy laying a foundation for our team and the game itself.

🎨 TEAM BUILDING

We have been actively looking for collaborations that can help us make the best version of this idea. Here are our active collaborators:

  • Guldaudi Design (Instagram) - They specialise in handmade Indian art, enriching our worlds through an asset pipeline we're building together.
  • Angad Mishra (Artist's Video Portfolio) - Enthusiast game developer, helping us polish animations and general feel of our game.

🎮 DEV UPDATE

We've made progress across multiple systems over the past few months.

  • Finalised basic movement, dash and interact actions, supporting up to four-player multiplayer.
  • Finalised the main combat system, supporting multiple weapons for enemies & players alike.
  • Finalised the main status effect system, with stacking, timeout, & regular effects applied to entities at runtime updating in realtime.
  • Made custom models & rigs for enemies and the player character
  • Unique lighting atmosphere with shadow volumes using geometry & transparent shaders
  • Constructed 1 full area along with puzzles and combat for a first iteration of minute-to-minute gameplay

Check out this 40-second YouTube video for a first look at our initial gameplay.

🔭 WHAT'S NEXT?

Our immediate focus is on:

  1. Completing the abilities system for our combat sandbox and multiplayer experience
  2. Fine-tuning movement and camera framing for cut-scenes
  3. Completing level design for the final area of our MVP

We're heads-down and excited about what's ahead!
